Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has increasingly become a buzz-word over the last few years as the
government and other public bodies strive to ensure a two-way relationship between businesses and the societies in which they operate. Martineau Johnson is fully behind this drive and a commitment to supporting society has long been an inherent part of the way we work.
As well as ensuring high standards of service for our clients and a flexible and effective working environment for our employees, we also view our interaction with the local community as an essential fulfilment for the success of our firm.
Encompassing many different aspects of the world around us, CSR aids the development of people, facilities and the environment. Through the devotion of time, money and services, Martineau Johnson and our employees have made significant contributions to various charities and society in general and our increased focus on CSR over the next twelve months is sure to build further on this.
Making our mark in the community
Putting something back into the community can come in a variety of forms and our work over the past year has ranged from charity fundraising events and painting classrooms to gardening and showing local children a glimpse of life at a law firm.
Charities are a fundamental tool in aiding social development in its various forms and we regularly hold firm-wide fundraising initiatives for several local and national charities.
On-going support is provided to development of arts in the community and our employees also donate time and resources to various local development schemes and community work. This varies from taking on positions as school governors or trustees to lending a hand to renovation and conservation projects.
Responsibility for the environment is an integral part of good business practice in today's society and Martineau Johnson's environmental policy and dedicated action team ensure that the issues of energy and water consumption, waste management, pollution prevention and the environmental impact of all aspects of business are addressed effectively.
