Martineau Johnson
Business Breakfast Club

Booking Form for next Martineau Johnson Business Breakfast Club

The Martineau Johnson Business Breakfast club meets in our London office on the third Thursday of each month (except August and December) for a mixture of education, brainstorming and networking, not forgetting refreshment! We gather at 08.15 am for an 08.30 am start and, although the aim is that those with particular commitments can be away at 09.45 am, discussion can continue until later.

The Breakfasts provide a brainstorming forum for the discussion of business problems amongst senior executives of small and medium-sized enterprises. One of the intentions behind the Breakfasts is to provide a series of resources which those in larger companies tend to have available in-house. The business skills and experiences of the members are every bit as important as those of our speakers; indeed, the members frequently lead the discussion. Discussions take place in an informal but confidential context.

The format involves a speaker giving a presentation on a particular topic followed by group discussion, over a buffet breakfast. We make a nominal charge of £20 for each of the meetings.

The Club was inaugurated in September 2004 and operated until Autumn 2007 in a lunch format.

We are always pleased to welcome new members. Indeed, we invite members to invite newcomers to attend one of our meetings, free of charge. Please ensure that you pass the appropriate details to us, so we know who, and how many, to expect.

The meetings held so far are summarised here together with links to presentations (where available) and the speakers' contact details.

The dates for the remaining meetings this year are:

  • On 15 May Nick Mallett will talk about consumer protection law, particularly in light of the new Consumer Protection Regulations coming into effect on 26 May.
  • On 19 June Richard Ottaway MP will talk about what an MP can do for you
  • 17 July - details to follow
  • On 18 September John Stonborough will talk about the trials and tribulations of media relations.
  • 16 October - details to follow
  • 20 November - details to follow

As a footnote to the summary above, we are aware of the benefits derived by members from the education, brainstorming, and networking available through the Business Club format. Some members have been kind enough to provide us with reports of the benefits obtained through the networking opportunity. In this respect we are aware of in excess of £250,000 of business generated in this way between the members. Some of the speakers have reported business gains directly related to their participation, also.

If you would be interested in participating in the Breakfasts, as a member and/or as a speaker on a particular topic, you are welcome to contact us as below or complete the booking form accessible at the top of this page.

If you would like more information on the benefits of joining, please contact Nick Mallett on 0870 763 1234 or via nick.mallett@martjohn.com, or any other Martineau Johnson contact.
