John Rice Head of Commercial Property Partner John is head of our property group, focusing on property finance. In particular he specialises in advising lenders or borrowers on funding arrangements relating to property acquisitions and/or developments. His work includes advising on straight term debt arrangements as well as helping to structure joint venture arrangements whereby parties with different resources and specialities collaborate in order to carry out the property developments. He also has a specialist knowledge and understanding of lending into further and higher education section. He recently completed transactions in which he has been involved,
include acting for a clearing Bank on a multi million pound development
loan for the acquisition and development of a shopping centre
in the south east, advising on a joint venture arrangement set
up to develop part of Salford in Manchester as well as advising
on a £20 million loan facility for one of higher education
clients to acquire new premises.
