Iain is a Partner and Head of the Planning and Environmental practice specialising in providing planning, CPO and environmental advice to developers, landowners, local authorities, education establishments and other commercial organisations.
Amongst the significant projects and developments upon which he has played a leading role are:
- Acting for a consortium of national house builders (BKW - Bovis Homes, Keepmoat Plc and Westbury Homes (now Persimmon)) on the multimillion Coventry WEHM Project involving major urban regeneration of the Wood End area - providing 3,500 homes, new employment, retail and leisure facilities, and new highway infrastructure involving CPO & village green issues.
- Providing project leadership, planning and environmental advice on a planning application for Snowdome Ltd on a major indoor ski/real snow facility in High Wycombe.
- Advising an oil distribution company (GB Oils Ltd) on environmental compliance and contaminated land liabilities, including negotiation of agreements on the acquisition of 20 oil distribution sites from Shell UK Ltd.
- Pursuing a CPO for a commercial client (GB Oils Ltd) including reference to the Lands Tribunal seeking compensation for the client in excess of £1.5 million.
- Advising a West Midlands local authority (Wolverhampton City Council) including negotiation of agreements on planning, environmental and CPO issues with developers on the urban regeneration of a major railway interchange (Wolverhampton Station) including retail/leisure and highways development.
