Helen Driscoll Partner Helen is the head of the intellectual property team, which focuses on work relating to patents, trade marks, designs, copyright, confidentiality and passing off. The team advises on both the protection and exploitation of these forms of intellectual property; typical matters include dealing with disputes when rights have been infringed, registering trade marks and designs, conducting IP audits, advising on other forms of protection for IP rights, and drafting IP licences and assignments. Helen’s particular specialist areas are patent law, trade marks, and IP on the internet. She has had substantial experience of emergency injunctions for IP clients and acted in the leading case on mandatory injunctions. Among the recent matters in which Helen has played a major role
are a substantial reorganisation of the IP holdings for a group
of companies, anti-counterfeiting work for a high quality household
products manufacturer, advising on the patentability of a new
concept in mattresses and handling a court action on roofing
products in which complicated issues on the interpretation of
a finalised court order arose.
