Martineau Johnson Hosts Well-Being Week

30/01/2007

Birmingham-based lawyers are being encouraged to fight back against Christmas overindulgence and are enjoying a programme aimed at promoting personal well-being.

Birmingham and London law firm Martineau Johnson has arranged a number of activities throughout the firm’s ‘Well-Being Week’ to encourage employees to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Roger Blears, Senior Partner at Martineau Johnson, comments: “We have tried to offer a good variety of opportunities, including lunchtime walks, reiki, beauty and relaxation treatments, as well as blood pressure tests, so that people of all ages and levels of fitness can get involved.

Martineau Johnson is well known for promoting a healthy work-life balance and its current programme underpins this philosophy.

The firm has always taken the personal needs of its employees very seriously and ‘break-out’ areas complete with complimentary fresh fruit are available for everyone to take time out of their working day to relax. Yoga classes are also available at the offices to assist with stress management.

Mr Blears said: “T he well-being week is all about doing what we can to make it easier for staff members to follow a healthier lifestyle.

“Good relations and a positive atmosphere are immediate advantages of this approach and the knock-on effects benefit staff and clients alike.

“The well-being of our employees is very important to the firm as a whole and we always endeavour to help our staff maintain a healthy work-life balance.

“In fact, many of the week’s activities may join our yoga classes and complementary fruit as regular features to encourage a healthy working environment.”
