Members of our public sector practice act for a wide range of

management of the built estate, major projects, particularly pfi/ppp,
the acquisition and disposal of property and
other capital assets, planning matters, public procurement law
and
other issues relating to the formation of commercial relationships
between the public
and private sectors, the formation of local authority companies
and joint ventures, Vires, Best Value, waste management
and disposal and other environmental issues. Our contentious advice
for clients includes property disputes and breaches of trust.
Examples of recent experience include:
- acting for a local authority on the acquisition
of land for a new business park in a joint venture with a regional
development agency
- acting on a wide range of pfi/ppp projects
- preparing more than a dozen planning agreements
for the largest single unitary authority in the country
- acting for police authorities on strategically important
development projects designed to deliver services in an innovative
way
- advising a local authority on a multi-party possession action
- acting for a local authority seeking to recover assets from
a third party in breach of trust
